Today marks my two year anniversary at Bergdorf Goodman. I celebrated with a Honey Lavender Macaron because purple is BG’s color. 10 years ago when I stumbled upon the BG holiday windows on a trip to the city. It was there, standing in front of one of the Fifth Avenue windows that I was mesmerized. The detail and the fantasy was unbelievable. That discovery in turn inspired me to move to New York to work in visual. For years I dreamed of working for Bergdorf Goodman, and by sheer luck it happened!
It was a friend who set me up with an informational interview, only to discover that the perfect position was open?! 5 interviews and two months later, I was hired. It’s been a crazy two years. I’ve done my best work and I’ve never worked so hard. My best advice: With hard work, perseverance and a little bit a of luck you can get where you want to be. Follow your passions! I’ve had some wonderful people support me in this endeavor and for that I am especially grateful.
